About Us

Thumdar.com (originally called Thumdar in There) was created in April 2004, two months after I became a member of There.com. Like many members of virtual worlds do, I became engrossed in the There metaverse and was excited about the possibilities. After spending countless hours in There and as I witnessed the creativity flourishing, I decided to add something of my own. Being an avid web designer, creating a site about There seemed a logical choice.

One of the elements I really enjoyed in There were the add-ons. People like Bedicus and Korrupt were creating some very cool patches, mods and hacks that really enhanced the experience. Soon to follow were Oracle of Delphi creating Giggles (designed for There), Anachron creating There Camera, KittenKat with her Snow Patch. So, I decided to make a central location for these downloads.

The original website was created as a no-nonsense, single page purely as a resource for Thereians. As time went on I decided to expand and offer more of an experience. My friend Geea had begun her website (The Voice of There) and was doing an excellent job with news coverage, so I decided to focus on resources and entertainment. The other, more personal element that had me excited was using the site as a venue for my graphic creativity.

As time passed and Thumdar.com has grown in popularity, more and more Thereians have begun to think of ways to patch and enhance There. From the outset I have been vocal in offering free hosting to all things There related and receive many requests for patches and am offered patches Thereians have created themselves. Thumdar in There encourages all Thereians to help build this website to better serve our There community.

In June 2008 the all new Thumdar.com was published, thus bringing the website into a more modern database driven dynamic format. This has brought many new things. For a few months the no longer available vmtv.com was included in this website, but they are now history. Visitors to the website were then able to register and create their own profiles, which includes a personal gallery, video gallery, music mp3 playlist, profile commenting, friendlist and more. A new main gallery was added, a member created library of knowledge, arcade, forums and the ability for all registered members to have their own blog that they can write in (no censorship). Another new feature was the ability to convert the entire website into 34 different languages. The latest version of the website offers a true community experience where members can communicate through profile, article, blog, and gallery commenting, private messaging, emailing and chat.

Thumdar.com has always been, and always will be, a place for Thereians to come and find free enhancements and to hopefully have some fun along the way.
