A place for me to express what feels right. Mostly my blogs here will relate to virtual worlds, but not always.

Written by Earl Nightingale.
Some years ago, the late Nobel prize-winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer was asked by a reporter, "Doctor, what's wrong with men today?" The great doctor was silent a moment, and then he said, "Men simply don't think!"
It's about this that I want to talk with you. We live today in a golden age. This is an era that humanity ...

If you care about the world economy, liberty, the Bill of Rights and the USA Constitution, you will vote for Ron Paul. Watch Dr. Paul slam dunk this debate and listen to the people in the crowd loving it. It's really incredible because I think Ron Paul may have a real shot at becoming president in 2012 - but only if there is a massive landslide o...

I know everyone is all excited about ThereIM and the upcoming reopening of There, but I sincerely hope you won't let it blind you from world events. Yes, many of us use virtual worlds for escapism (I would be lieing if I denied it myself) but that doesn't mean we should turn our backs on what is happening in the physical life around us.

My fellow Americans:
I speak to you tonight in an hour of grave danger to our nation. As you know, within the next few hours our government is in danger of failing to make payments of interest and principal which the United States Treasury has contracted to make. In technical terms, we are not far away from beginning to default on payments associated with those US Treasury securities which represent the public debt of the United States. As part of the same crisis, there is now a threat to over 70 million checks which your government issues every month — payments which go to recipients of Social Security, to providers of health services under the Medicare program, to Medicaid beneficiaries, to our active-duty and retired military personnel, to our defense contractors, to our government employees — in short, to everyone who receives a benefit from the federal government, who works for the federal government, or who does business with the federal government.

I've been working on Thumdar.com for over 2 months FULL TIME and there is still so much to do. It seems to be a never ending job.., but then again, I am quite picky.
There are so many different software items installed within this site and conflicts happen. If it's not one thing it's another, each needing to be tech supported and it takes time. Th...

The other day I logged into SecondLife and was making a concerted effort to try and have fun. I needed to update my avie look so I went shopping. Found a leather jacket and some shoes. Bought some glasses that look like the ones I wear in physical life. Cool, my avie looks better. Okay, now what? Where do I go? Yeah sure, there's people on my bud...

Since I received the notice that There was closing shop, I've been rather standoffish and unaffected. I don't spend much time in There so, what's the big deal? Besides.., there's always other virtual worlds to explore, new people to meet and then there's all that RL work to be done. So no big deal. Really.., no big deal.Until to...

After all the endless Hollywood movies depicting violence, disaster and tragedy, people become desensitized and it takes something extreme to make us react or feel. The earthquake in Haiti is very real and very extreme. In my awareness it has always been clear to me that it is important to allow myself to feel the events that happen around the...
