Hi y'all!  Your resident Texican/transplanted Michigander here.  I've been busy lately and not on Thumdar.  Why?  Well, battling stage III cancer for one.  Let me tell you about it...if anyone cares to know!

You learn a lot about yourself when you go through chemotherapy.  Like, who's your friend, who loves you, and who couldn't really give a rats ass.  Who stands by you, sits by your side when you go through 6 hours of poison being run through your veins.  Taking poison voluntarily really sucks. Washing your hair and having handfulls of it fall out sucks.  Having your tongue feel like you've eaten a piece of scorching hot pizza all the time sucks.  Having a platinum based chemo make you feel like you want to kill yourself sucks, taking it, and knowing it can actually CAUSE cancer... SUX.

But what doesn't suck?  Winning.  Seeing a clean PET scan (and, I'm not talking 'bout my cat, here... ROLF), getting clean bloodwork back, not having to go to the doctor for three months...that doesn't suck!

Oh, and back to one year since There closed.  Boy, when you have experienced the wonders of  There, and it is taken away from you, that sucks too.  I really, really miss it, and my friends, and being "a party in a box", and being able to fly, and jump off Avie sacrifice, and everything that was so unique about There.

I tried Second Life again for about 5 minutes.  That was awful.  The minute I logged in some "tweenager" was cussing and talking about sex and starting an argument.  Logged off.  Uninstalled.  Done.

So then I tried Blue Mars.  Five minutes.  Sucked.  Uninstalled.

Facebook and Thumdar are my only social networks now. 

 WHY do we always want what we can't have?  Did we take There for granted? Probably.  Boy, do I want it back.  Badly. 

Earthquakes and tsunamis and government lockdowns and nuclear meltdowns and hurricanes and unemployment and cancer and foreclosures and chemtrails and pollution and deception and starvation and wars and greed in the hearts of men.

We all need the escape of There.  I sure wish it would return.
