You know the ones, you've planned everything in advance so nothing at all can go wrong.

The alarm has been set 10 minutes early to make sure you're early for work for once, bedtime has been brought forward an hour to make up for getting up 10 minutes earlier.

This was not allowing for gale force winds and torrential rain during the night which found a way through the roof tiles, soaked my bedroom ceiling and dripped all over me in bed causing me to wake up at 3am thinking the alarm has gone off so I switched it off while still half asleep. Conceding defeat to natures wrath I slept in a spare bedroom, taking the alarm clock with me.

Needless to say, the alarm didn't work very well in the 'off' position so I was  woken by the sound of schoolchildren passing my house on their way to school. Some quick eyes still closed mental calculations concerning school start time and my work start time made me come to the conclusion that at that time I should have been just starting my mid-morning break in work!

Eyes open!, wash, teeth, get dressed, shoes (no socks), no cuppa, leave for work and think of a really original excuse for being so late during the journey, the length of which was  lengthened by 35 minutes to allow for parents taking their saplings to school in a parade of 4x4s.

Arrive in work, excuse accepted (not saying what it was) only to be told they've stopped all our overtime pay and bonuses in light of the worldwide economic crisis.

Booked my car in for a service and repair work during my lunch break to be told it would cost me over £1000, oh the joys of owning an Audi!

The highlight of the working day was unclogging a jammed raw sewage pump because the service company had closed their local yard for the same reason I wasn't  getting a bonus payment for doing it.

Arrived at home ready to survey the previous nights damage only to find my washing machine had sprung a leak and spewed its liquid contents all over a wooden floor.

OK, inside of roof patched with emergency repair kit, washing machine isolated and a new seal ordered, beds swapped over so I had my bedroom back, alarm clock bounced off a few walls and a clock radio/alarm pressed into service for now.

Fed and watered I decided to unwind in the magical world of 'There' for a few hours. The day before I had finished my There fix with 96.8% renowned on my board, so it was the night to make legendary. I found other things to do in There until 9:30pm, the magical time my levels would start building up on my board again.

So, there I was on Fisher Island doing the same jumps and twists over and over and over again refreshing my profile page to see how much more I needed - 97%, 97.6%, 98.4%, 98.9%, 99.4%, 99.4%, 99.4%!!!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

0.6% short of the upper echelons of boarding!!! Forget the leaking roof, dead washing machine, smashed alarm clock,  working with sewerage and paying a king's ransom for car repairs - 0.6%!!!, is there no justice in the world (real or virtual) anymore?

Closed laptop in disgust, went to bed, had a good day today even though I have to rely on lifts to work and back for a day or three. Decided this had to be the new installment in my blog  just to get it off my chest.

I bet I was even woken up at 3:06am being rained on that night. But the worst one of all was a tiny little 0.6% - This truly ruined my day!

Not to worry, I'll be there on Fisher Island tonight going for that 0.6% to reach my goal. The time I'll be there doing it?
