5-1-1999 my life changed when I was rear-ended by an off duty cop driving 100 mph, he was a "jailer" at the time, and is now a Texas State Highway Patrollman. I lost my land, my savings, most of my family, they didn't want to help a crippled relative, and I lost more than monitary accomplishments. I can still walk, (only allowed to lift things lower than 5 pounds in weight), have had 4 cervical fusions (neck surgeries w/titainium hardware fixation devices) and most of my friends are either neighbors or online.
He broke my neck C3-C7, in other words, he broke my entire neck, save one lonely disk at C2 and of course the axis which is afixed at the base of the skull. I'm blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ, that I'm still able to walk and drive a few miles at a time.
I would be interested just for the fun of it ... in creating on http://www.There.com a broken neck club, and off spin from Broke Back Mountain. We could call it Broke Neck Mountain and place "it" (support group) on a mountain in There! A place for people with broken necks to gather, talk, converse, and share information about what it's like to live with a broken neck.
Having a broken neck is different from any other spinal injuries, the idea being, an exclusive club for people only with broken necks <);-)
Any ideas? Any one interested, let me know!
Sincerely, TexasRenee
