At some point in our lives, we have to choose between two evils. And of course, it makes sense that we choose the lesser evil.
We choose between two Presidential candidates, or among six or seven of them in the Philippines. :O We know we have the right to vote, and we should exercise that right.
But what if we can't choose? What if we can't make up our minds? Or should I say, what if we just can't convince ourselves that it won't change anything at all if we choose? We choose between our dream that's on the horizon and the reality that is in front of us.
Should we gather all courage and pursue the dream? Or be practical and live the reality that is in the present? How can we be sure that our dream holds the key to our happiness? Aren't we just supposed to find the reasons to be happy wherever we are - whoever we're with or without? We choose between right and wrong. Though of course, right is obviously the good choice, and wrong, the bad choice.
But isn't "right" always the tough choice to make? And the wrong one tempting, exhilirating and satisfying, albeit temporary?Back in school, how I hated exams with an instruction to choose the best answer because every choice seemed right. How I hated case presentations and defense. "There is no right and wrong answer. Just the right explanation and defense."
Sigh. How does one choose? Does one choose with one's mind? Or does one choose with one's heart? What if we choose not to choose? What happens to the choices? What happens to us?
