Yep, I finally got a hood of my own!!! '''yay
It's a bit bigger than I had planned on, being 100 acres instead of the smaller and less expensive 45-acre... But it suits me and the residents just fine. We've got this nice mountain in the back corner that rocks when you're skilling up on the hoverboard, and on the shoreline below, you can actually see the tide wash up on the shore, in and out...
Right now there are 5 other residents in the hood, but they all get along and we can all hang out together without going insane. LOL I think that's the most important thing about having a hood, is having residents who don't clash, and giving them the feel of owning what they rent. Lots of hood owners have so many lame rules that stifle a renter's creativity, or that limit them even when they're in their own freaking lot! Some won't even allow you to live in their hood until you've moved out of your other hood(s). WTF is that all about?!
I've lived in a few hoods myself before owning this one, so I have an idea of what I would like as a renter. I've also lived in PAZes, so I have an idea of what it is that avies find attractive about it. Hopefully the perks for both pazes and lots are melded perfectly at my hood. It seems so, since I've had renters since Day 1, and they've been pretty good company. :-)
It's nice to be able to go in There, say hi to your neighbors, shoot them when RL life gets you down, or buggy bomb them, etc. and find yourself logging in later onto an avie trap of some sort, or worse, the freaking toilet. ROFL We have tons of fun together, it's just hard for us to meet up cuz of the various timezones/schedules... But when we do happen to be online, whether there's just 2 of us or all of us, we definitely have a blast! Enough to give tummy aches from laughing so hard, enough to have some spit their drinks out in real life, and enough to make some people jealous and try to invade our lil circle. LOL
I only wish that we'd be less selfish/protective of our hood and share it, you know, allow more people into our lil circle to move in and join our shenanigans. In a way, we want to share our fun with others, but then again, we do get fearful of some stranger coming in and destroying it too. Guess it's just human nature to react this way, eh?
Well, if you're reading this and are interested in moving in, or just joining us in our antics, come on in! We're pretty good at making folks feel welcome, just don't be too surprised if you realize you've walked into the middle of something... like a shootout or a buggy bash, or even musical chairs. LOL We don't bite... and anyways, we've got our rabies shots so, it won't kill ya if we did. ROFL
