I joined There.com in 2003, and I really love designing for it!
Designing in There.com is a lot more stress free then Second Life as I can work 100% offline, so no one can bother me while I work (Yay!)
I don't mean that I hate talking, but being able to work entirely offline is very stress free. My heart pumps so fast when logging in to Second Life to have so many stressful messages waiting for me.. I can get very jumpy and fail to put as much effort in to things as I want to since theres always the chance of someone coming to say "Hey Ameshin do this" or "Hey Ameshin lets have an 8 hour talk!" If it was possible I would be working offline :( Most of the time I'm very busy and usually don't want to talk!
In any case, with There.com I log in only when I'm looking to socialize.. or check out my newly accepted outfit (but - I wan't to show it off anyway so I will probably be socializing! :P ) So bug me to death on There.com I love it! <3
So much more relaxed using There compared to Second Life... however I don't put any money IN to it and things sometimes don't sell very well.
This means I have to make enough to cover the submission fees.. lately thats been kind of difficult. I'm accepting custom orders now so hopefully that will help a bit.
I have a little Therebucks left from returning most of what I own (about enough to submit one new thing) however I think I'm going to put off submitting anything new for a while until my income becomes a little more stable.
The last 2 tops I submitted are actually supposed to come in about 8 colors to match some skirts I've made before, however since I can't afford the upload fees I've stated in my profile that I'll take the submission fee amount & give the donator the top of their color (to match the skirt) It saves the buyer a little money & I don't have to pay the submission fee for something that possibly won't sell - since there takes such a large percentage of each item it puts me out a LOT of Therebucks in the end.
Hopefully sales will pick up soon so I can do more for There.com I'd like a break from Second Life's stress right now- I'm feeling really, really bad about it.
