Hoverboarding in There is great fun and if you are in action mode when riding, you can do quite some serious big airs and spectacular tricks (depending on the board you have).
Here is some basic info on tricks with your hoverboard and since I assume you're new to There, I'll cover the tricks with your standard board that you get when registering as a new user, the old school hoverboard.
Note: At first, I'd recommend installing bboy's Quickbar patch, because it makes switching from normal mode to action mode a lot more comfortable and replaces the rather useless fun finder toolbar with some nice-to-have functions.
Ok, now go somewhere you're allowed to drop your board (at best find a location that has some steep cliffs and mountainside feel (e.g. search for NeNe's cauldron in There -> Places and once there, go up the mountain to find the Rim and the big air tower there) to practice bone-breaking moves ; )
Step on your board and switch to action mode as default (either use AM switch on your bboy bar or go to There -> Customize -> World -> Default to Action Mode). You will notice that your menubars and HUD cursor are gone. In action mode, you control your board's movements with the mouse (at least left and right) but you get a goodie: use left mouse button to active the afterburner which boosts your speed and allows for higher airs.
Ok, now point the board in a direction where you have quite free way and hold right mouse button, then accelerate by holding arrow up - make sure you don't have cruise control enabled though!
When at proper speed release the right button and you will jump - when you hear a noise (some kind of "honk!") it means you are in trick mode: now rotate the mouse and hold arrow up, down, left, right, left+right or up+down and you will notice that your avatar either grabs the board's nose or tail or left or right side or makes a special trick (this one depends on which board you have).
With a bit of practice and the proper speed and height, you can do spectacular tricks and be way cool!
Have fun!
PS: I'm quite often up there on the Rim, so if you come over be sure to say hi, I'm always on the lookout for buddies and fellow borders. If you need help, just check me out via IM, PM here or in There.
