Thumdar.com Data Retention Policy
Effective Date: 5/6/2025
At Thumdar.com, we take your privacy and security seriously. This Data Retention Policy outlines how we collect, retain, and delete your data, offering you full control over your personal information. We want you to understand exactly how your data is handled and when and why we may retain or remove it.
1. Data We Collect
Thumdar collects various types of data to ensure a personalized and seamless user experience. The data we collect includes:
- Personal Information: Your display name, email address, profile image, and any other details you voluntarily provide on your profile or during interactions with the platform.
- User-Generated Content: This includes all the content you create, such as photos, videos, comments, forum posts, and files. This content remains tied to your account, but you have full control over it.
- Usage Information: This involves anonymous data to help us improve our platform, such as activity logs, how you interact with Thumdar’s features, and the pages you visit.
- Third-Party Payment Information: Thumdar does not collect or store any payment details such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. All payment transactions for Premium memberships or other purchases are processed securely through trusted third-party providers like Stripe, PayPal, or similar services. We retain only transactional records related to your purchase history, including the type of subscription and dates of transactions.
2. Retention Periods & Deletion
Thumdar places complete control over your data in your hands. Here’s how we handle your data:
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time via the profile settings. Once you click the delete button, all your data, including personal information and user-generated content, will be permanently erased. No further action is required from us, and there is no need for contact—your data will be immediately and irrevocably deleted.
- Data Retention Periods:
- Account Information: Personal details like your name, email address, and username are retained as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, this data is permanently erased.
- Content (Posts, Photos, etc.): User-generated content such as posts, photos, and videos is deleted when the account is deactivated.
- Transactional Records: Transactional data (such as Premium subscription history) is stored securely for a maximum of 7 years for accounting and regulatory purposes, but no payment details like credit card numbers are ever retained by Thumdar.
- User-Initiated Data Requests: You can also download a copy of your personal data, including posts, messages, and media, directly from your profile settings at any time before deletion. This can be done using the “Request Data” feature within your account.
3. Data Retention for Premium Services
- Subscription Data: For users who purchase a Premium membership, your subscription details will be retained for as long as the account is active. After a user unsubscribes from Premium services, related data such as subscription status and access privileges are retained until the end of the current billing cycle (typically up to 30 days), after which the data is purged unless otherwise required for legal, accounting, or support-related purposes.
4. Data Deletion and Control
- Your Control Over Deletion: You have full control over your data. If you wish to delete your data, you can do so at any time through the profile settings without needing to contact Thumdar support.
- Permanent Deletion: After your account is deleted, all associated data is permanently erased from Thumdar’s systems, and we will not retain any of it. In rare cases, backup copies of deleted data may persist briefly but will be automatically removed after a short period.
5. Data Retention Exceptions
In rare cases, certain data may need to be retained for longer than the periods outlined above:
- Legal or Regulatory Requirements: If required by law, we may retain data for a longer period to comply with legal obligations.
- Disputes or Legal Claims: If necessary, data may be retained to resolve disputes or defend legal claims.
- Security and Compliance: Data may be retained for security purposes or to enforce our Terms of Service.
6. How Thumdar Won’t Contact You
At Thumdar, we will never contact you for financial transactions or solicit any payment or private information. Specifically:
- We will never ask you for your password or sensitive personal details through email or any other means.
- We will never send emails requesting direct funds or any payment beyond what is processed securely via trusted third-party payment providers like PayPal or Stripe.
- Never respond to any suspicious emails or requests for payment. If you receive anything that appears to be from Thumdar but seems out of the ordinary, it is likely fraudulent.
7. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Data Retention Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. You will be notified of any significant changes to the policy via the website or email. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Data Retention Policy, or if you’d like to request a copy of your data or delete your account, you can do so directly from your profile settings. You don’t need to contact us directly to make these changes, but if you have any other concerns, you can always reach out to us through the contact form located at the bottom of this page.
