Thumdar Banning Policy
Effective Date: 5/7/2025
1. Purpose
This Banning Policy outlines the rules, process, and authority under which users may be banned from Thumdar.com. It exists to protect the community, maintain the integrity of the platform, and enforce the Community Guidelines, Terms and Conditions, and related policies.
2. Grounds for Banning
Users may be temporarily or permanently banned from Thumdar for any of the following, including but not limited to:
- Harassment or Abuse: Any form of targeted bullying, personal attacks, hate speech, or intimidation toward users, staff, or volunteers.
- Violation of Community Standards: Repeated or egregious disregard for Thumdar’s Community Guidelines, including inciting conflict or disruptive behavior.
- Impersonation or Deception: Impersonating Thumdar staff, contributors, or other members; submitting false reports; or attempting to manipulate moderation.
- Unauthorized Promotions or Scams: Posting fraudulent links, phishing attempts, scams, or unauthorized donation requests.
- Harm to the Platform: Exploiting bugs, attempting unauthorized access, distributing malware, or intentionally disrupting the site or its reputation.
- Underage Users: Any user found to be under the age of 18 will have their account permanently banned and all content removed from our systems.
- Evading Bans: Creating alternate accounts to bypass a ban or suspension.
3. Ban Types & Duration
- Warning Only (at staff discretion): Issued when a first-time or minor infraction is noted.
- Temporary Ban (1–30 days): For violations that require a cooling-off period or demonstrate harmful behavior.
- Permanent Ban: Reserved for serious violations or repeated offenses, particularly those that put community members or the platform at risk.
4. Banning Process
- Review: Reports are reviewed by Thumdar Moderators or Admins with evidence.
- Notification (at staff discretion): Users are notified of the action taken, with a general reason provided. Specific evidence may be withheld for privacy or investigative reasons.
- Appeals: Users may appeal a temporary or permanent ban via one of the websites’ contact forms. Appeals will be reviewed within 14 days. Decisions are generally final. IP-banned users are not able to request an appeal.
5. Additional Enforcement
- Thumdar may limit access to features (e.g., group creation, file uploads) without issuing a full ban.
- Verified Contributors, Premium Members, and Moderators are not exempt from enforcement.
- Ban evasion may lead to IP banning or administrative escalation.
6. Age Restriction & Protection of Minors
Thumdar is a platform strictly intended for users 18 years of age or older. By registering or using any part of the site, users affirm that they meet this minimum age requirement.
- Any user found to be under the age of 18 will have their account permanently banned.
- Attempts to solicit, target, or exploit minors—whether real or implied—will result in an immediate and permanent ban, with possible reporting to relevant authorities if warranted.
- Content that sexualizes, depicts, or references minors in inappropriate ways is absolutely prohibited, regardless of artistic or fictional context.
- Users may not post or share links, files, or media that violate child protection standards under U.S. law or international regulations.
Thumdar maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding the safety and representation of minors.
7. Prohibited Language & Intent-Based Enforcement
Thumdar reserves the right to block or restrict certain words, phrases, and expressions from use in forums, profiles, usernames, uploads, and other site features. While Thumdar is an 18+ platform where occasional strong language or mature banter may occur, context and intent are critical.
- Use of language that is hate-driven, sexually violent, abusive, or threatening will result in moderation or banning, regardless of the user’s status or history.
- Words or slurs that are widely understood to be unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful will be subject to outright bans or filtering.
- We recognize that foul language may sometimes be used in jest or community-driven banter. When assessing reports, intention, tone, context, and history of behavior are all considered.
- Any attempt to bypass banned words through alternate spelling, symbols, or “coded” language may result in enforcement actions.
The goal is to maintain a community where adults can express themselves freely but responsibly, without crossing into harassment, hate, or illegality.
8. Administrative Discretion & Enforcement Authority
All enforcement actions on Thumdar—including warnings, suspensions, bans, content removals, or revocations of privileges—are carried out at the sole discretion of the site’s administrators and moderators.
- Actions may be taken with or without prior notice, and for any reason deemed harmful to the community, platform integrity, or user safety, even if not explicitly listed in this policy.
- While we typically provide a warning or notification, this is not guaranteed. Users are responsible for adhering to the spirit and letter of all site policies at all times.
- Enforcement decisions may be based on behavior, context, intention, history of violations, or the potential for disruption or harm.
- This Banning Policy works in tandem with Thumdar’s Community Standards, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and other published guidelines. Violations of any of these may lead to action under this policy.
Thumdar reserves the right to interpret and apply its policies in a manner consistent with its values, goals, and commitment to maintaining a respectful and secure environment.
9. Questions or Reporting Issues
If you have questions regarding this policy, believe an enforcement action was taken in error, or wish to report a user or violation, you may do so using the contact form located directly beneath this policy. We review all submissions and, when appropriate, follow up in a timely manner. While not all reports receive a direct response, we take all concerns seriously and use them to help ensure Thumdar remains a safe, fair, and welcoming environment.
