California Privacy Notice (CCPA / CPRA Statement)
Effective Date: 1/1/2020 (CCPA)
Effective Date: 1/1/2023 (CPRA)
At Thumdar, your privacy matters. We believe in transparency, respect, and the fundamental right of every individual to control their own data. Although Thumdar does not meet the statutory thresholds for mandatory compliance under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), we voluntarily embrace key principles of these laws because we value our community—and that includes you.
This notice outlines how we support California residents in understanding and managing their personal information on Thumdar.
Voluntary Compliance & Commitment to Transparency
While we are not legally required to comply with the full scope of the CCPA/CPRA, Thumdar is committed to offering meaningful privacy protections modeled on these laws. Our approach is guided by clarity, choice, and a genuine respect for your digital rights.
What We Don’t Do
We do not sell personal information—ever.
Thumdar does not, and will not, sell your personal data to any third party. Period. We may use services like Google Analytics or embedded advertising platforms to improve your experience, but these tools do not involve selling your data under the definitions set forth by CCPA or CPRA.
Your Rights as a California Resident
Even though we’re not legally required to offer these rights, we believe you deserve them. If you’re a California resident, you may take advantage of the following:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal data we collect, how we use it, and with whom (if anyone) we share it. You can access and download much of your personal information directly from your Account Settings page.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal data from our systems. Certain exceptions apply—such as compliance with legal obligations or operational requirements—but where possible, we honor these requests.
- Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Information: Since Thumdar does not engage in the sale of personal data, this right is not applicable. However, you can still control data sharing and cookies through your account settings or browser tools.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Thumdar will never penalize or treat you unfairly for exercising your privacy rights. You’ll receive the same level of access, service, and community support whether or not you choose to make a data request.
Submitting a Request
If you wish to exercise any additional privacy rights or need assistance beyond what is available in your Account Settings, you may use the request form located at the bottom of this page. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe permitted under California law (usually within 45 days).
Legal Disclaimer & Risk Acknowledgment
Thumdar does not meet the legal thresholds required for formal CCPA or CPRA compliance (as defined by user volume, revenue, or data sharing metrics). As such, California residents accessing Thumdar do so with the understanding that:
- Our privacy efforts are voluntary and offered in good faith.
- We make no warranties of legal compliance under the CCPA/CPRA.
- By using Thumdar, California residents acknowledge and accept this limitation.
Our Philosophy on Privacy
At its core, Thumdar is a community built on creativity, trust, and fairness. Your data belongs to you, and our role is to protect it—not to exploit it. Our privacy practices reflect our commitment to ethical digital engagement, and we continually assess our systems to align with evolving standards and community expectations.
We’ll always do our best to safeguard your information—and we’ll always be honest about where we stand.
