End-User License Agreement (EULA) for Thumdar
Effective Date: 5/6/2025
Welcome! This agreement (yep, the fine print) covers how you can use downloadable content and tools available on Thumdar.com. By downloading, installing, or using anything we offer—like mods, patches, skins, graphics, or design tools (we’ll call this stuff the “Licensed Content”)—you’re agreeing to the terms below.
We’ve kept this as clear, honest, and respectful as possible, because that’s how we run things.
1. What You’re Allowed to Do
We (Thumdar) give you a personal, non-commercial license to use the Licensed Content for fun, creativity, and participation within online virtual communities. That means you can use the stuff we host for your own enjoyment—just not to sell, republish, or exploit without permission.
Unless otherwise stated, this license is just for you—you can’t give it away, sell it, or share it as your own.
2. Credit Where Credit’s Due
For Content from Thumdar:
We ask that if you use something you found on Thumdar (like tools, banners, or tutorials), give credit where it’s due. A simple note like “Thanks to Thumdar.com” or a link back goes a long way. It’s not just a formality—it keeps the creative ecosystem thriving.
For Content from Individual Creators:
Many downloads on Thumdar come from independent designers and developers. These folks may include their own licenses, permissions, or rules. In those cases:
- Respect their terms.
- If they say “don’t redistribute,” don’t.
- If they say “you can remix, but credit me,” do it.
If a creator gives you a commercial use license or a different agreement, that deal applies to that content—and overrides our standard personal-use license. When in doubt, ask the creator directly or leave a comment.
3. You Can’t Do These Things (Unless You Have Permission)
Here’s what’s off-limits unless you’ve been clearly told otherwise:
- Reselling or distributing Licensed Content as your own.
- Modifying someone else’s creation and uploading it without credit or permission.
- Uploading anything that breaks laws or violates Thumdar’s rules.
- Hacking, reverse engineering, or taking apart content in ways that were never intended.
4. Who Owns What?
- Thumdar owns its own logos, tools, banners, and site design (including original Thumdar assets generously shared by J-Yarbrough. Thanks, Jay).
- Creators own their own content. If someone uploads a patch, tool, or design, they still own it, unless they’ve stated otherwise.
- You retain ownership of anything you make and upload to the site. By uploading, you’re giving Thumdar permission to display, share, and store it as part of the platform’s community features.
We don’t take your rights. You can request the removal of your stuff at any time.
5. Be Smart and Respectful
- If you download content, make sure it doesn’t violate the rules of any platform you use it on.
- Some patches or mods may alter how content appears on other platforms. You’re responsible for understanding and respecting the rules of any platform where you use them. That said, many platforms appreciate creative freedom when it’s done safely and respectfully.
- We try to make sure everything here is safe, but we can’t guarantee that every file is bug-free or perfectly compatible with your system. Use your best judgment and common sense. If something looks sketchy, skip it.
6. No Guarantees (But We Do Our Best)
Everything on Thumdar is offered “as is.” That means:
- No promises it’ll work perfectly.
- No guarantees it won’t have a bug or a hiccup.
- We’re not responsible if something goes wrong after installing content.
We care a lot, but we can’t take responsibility for everything that happens after a download.
7. Liability (or, What Happens If Things Go Sideways)
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We’re not responsible for any damage, loss, or drama caused by using content from Thumdar—whether it’s a system crash, in-game ban, or lost save file.
- If you misuse content, ignore licensing rules, or upload something harmful, you’re responsible for the outcome.
We want everyone to play fair—and stay safe.
8. Ending This Agreement
If you stop using the site or the Licensed Content, this agreement naturally ends. We also reserve the right to revoke your license and remove access if you break the rules, abuse the system, or violate someone else’s rights.
9. Law Stuff
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, USA. Any legal dispute will be handled in Nebraska’s courts. (Hopefully it never comes to that.)
10. We Might Update This
We may revise this agreement over time. If we do, we’ll post the changes clearly and let users know. If you keep using Thumdar afterward, you’re agreeing to the updated terms.
11. The Big Picture
By using or downloading anything from Thumdar, you’re saying you understand and accept these terms.
If you don’t agree with something here, please don’t download or use the content. It’s okay to walk away—no hard feelings.
A Final Word
We believe in creative freedom, fair use, and community support. This EULA isn’t here to box you in—it’s here to protect everyone involved: creators, users, and Thumdar itself.
Please be respectful, thoughtful, and act like a decent adult. We’re all here to share, collaborate, and create.
If you ever have questions about how you can use something or what’s allowed, ask. We’re always happy to help clarify.
